The insphere TV crew asked some people who live in Port Elizabeth what their definition of community was and what they were doing for their community. They focused on the young people as they are alwasy the future, after watching this you'll feel the same way we do - that people are pretty into what's happening in their world and aware that they are totally part of it.
Cape Town Fish Market’s Teppanyaki chef presents this Japanese style of iron griddle cooking from the popular Buffelsfontein Road restaurant. He’s poetry in motion, darting from plate to griddle in a dazzling display of speed as he cooks a selection of seafood, sprouts and other delicious vegetables in front of a bunch of delighted – and hungry – spectators.
Over the Billabong a march was organized in protest of the proposed nuclear power plant designated for Thyspunt. Thousands of people turned out to voice their disapproval and to hand over a document to Jeffreys Bay mayor Robbie Dennis. Up until this point it is clear that the local authorities have no real interest in listening to the people as a number of meetings have been organized with no representatives from the local council bothering to attend. No first world country is going the nuclear route - why are we when there are so many alternative options? Options that would not destroy the environment and ultimately be more cost efective and sustainable. Are palms being greased? Is there a stock pile of old nuclear equipment that some consortium needs to get rid of? Is Africa the perfect dumping ground? The music in this video is performed by Logon and Joe and was recorded live at 3 Fat Fish.

Getting yourself of the grid and self-sufficient is somthing we would all like to do. Well not all of us, but when you look at the state of the world, the quality of our drinking water and the seemingly permanent power issues we suffer from in this country its definitely something worth a considering.
