I recently read an interview with a man who had been recently appointed CEO of a radio station in Johannesburg – super interesting guy who articulated something I had never really thought about, he said “we live in an age where we are more connected than ever, surrounded by social media platforms that facilitate expression of every thought and emotion humanly imaginable – yet people are lonelier than ever and that’s why radio still succeeds, it’s a relationship with an audience”. Is that true?
